Many people look forward to having a baby for years, planning every detail of their nursery. They imagine sitting in the baby’s room, watching it sleep or rocking it. Furniture is an important part of any room, and nursery furniture can be especially important. Many people will think of a crib first, but there are several other pieces of furniture that make up a nursery. A bed is, of course, important. A changing table is perhaps the second most important piece of nursery furniture. Babies go through a lot of diapers, and a space to change them is critical. They can be a simple surface, with enough space to hold the baby and diapers. Others are more like dressers, with drawers below for diapers and changing materials, clothes, extra toys and clean bedding. This increases the utility of the table, combining a changing surface with storage space, which can be important to those with smaller houses or apartments. Those with more space may want it for other things. Many people want to have a rocking chair in their nursery, for rocking the baby when they wake up in the night, before putting them down for a nap, or just because. Some parents also enjoy watching their baby sleep or just being in the room with them, and a rocking chair provides a comfortable chair for this. There are various other small accessories that can be added, depending on the needs and wants of a particular set of parents.
